Firstly congratulations to all our Club Champs winners. Several new names on the trophies this year and some winners will get to play at home for the North Harbour titles.
On a small sour note pitch marks have been making a major appearance on our greens again with last Fridays golfers the major culprits…the day before club champs. We are hosting some big groups over the next few weeks including our own Melbourne Cup and the Champion of Champions we need to look after our course and greens! On that note the course will close on completion of the last Haggle tee off at 12:45 on Saturday the 23rd November to protect the course for Champion of Champions. No visitors that Saturday please Haggle players only.
A few things happening this weekend with Birkenhead RSA joining us for one of their weekend competitions and then on Monday the Kiwis vs Internationals Competiton for a massive trophy kindly donated by Warren Callaghan. If you would like to play on Monday please book on 18holes as we need to know how many people are coming for catering purposes.
On the 24th November for Champ of Champs we will need some people around the course helping out with spotting and rulings around our fences, bomb dumps and Out of bounds areas etc. If you can help on that Sunday please let me know we will need between 12 and 16 volunteers that day with a morning group and an afternoon group. We may have minimal assistance from North Golf this day.
Melbourne Cup we have a full house for that day and again I ask that our members chip in and help early with food prep and then bar staff for the after match. Likely tee off that day around 9.15am all going well.
