A big weekend on the course just gone and only possible with the help of our marvelous clean up crew on Thursday after the weather events of the previous 24 hours. A big thank you to those that came out and helped with the clean up. There is some firewood available near the first tee and more to come. If you would like some please feel free to pick up and consider a donation to the club to go towards our future purchase of trees for planting (we have a big hole on the 18th to cover).

I have had a bit of feedback from various members recently on how good our greens look now that we are getting better at repairing our pitch marks however on the flipside we are starting to see increasing amounts of un-repaired divots on the course….some of the holes on our fairways look like they have been made with spades not golf clubs. As I have previously said it is not up to the greenkeeping staff nor the Club Captain to run round after our members tidying up pitch marks and divots…Can we have more effort in these areas please! If you are hosting Visitors please ensure that they also look after our course.
If anyone would like to play in a Par 3 Contest (par 3 on all 18 holes) at our course on Matariki Day Friday 28th June please let me know at thebean1972@hotmail.co.nz. I am just trying to gauge interest before this event goes ahead. The plan is to have a shotgun start at 8.30am, Members $10 and visitors $30 (includes entry), prizegiving and BBQ on completion with the bar open and if we get good numbers some decent prizes. I will need names by June the 14th at the latest so I can request that we open the bar.
We have the tree planting day also booked in for Friday the 13th at 9.15am if you would like to help out with this please turn up on the day with spades and gloves. BBQ lunch will be provided.
A small turn out took part in the 1st Sunday 9 hole. Simon Collins taking out the win with 21 points. Thank you to all those that helped with the bar and the BBQ over the long weekend it was very busy.
