December Newsletter from Ladies Vice Captain

Kia Ora fellow golfers.
Our formal golfing year has come to an end but, hopefully, the summer break will give us all plenty of time for social golf and some incredibly good scores.
There are no more Ladies haggles until we start our new year in February but Matt is running $3 haggles on Saturdays through January and you are welcome to enter those should you wish.
Our usual two Ladies summer competitions run through December and January. These are the Wynn Wells Nett and Putts and Betty Hemming Stableford. They are open to all and can be played on any day of the week. Because the computer cannot handle a 7-day a week competition, if you wish to enter

  • Write the competition on your score card before beginning.
  • Enter your score into the machine.
  • PUT YOUR CARD IN THE GREY BOX IN THE LADIES’ PORCH {For Kath to enter your score}

 MAKE SURE YOUR CARD IS SIGNED BY YOU AND YOUR PARTNER.

NEXT YEAR’S COMPETITIONS.
Your committee has decided to follow the decision by Harbour Golf for the Champion of Champions – which means Silver Division will play two rounds of 36 holes for club champs, over two days.
All Bronze Divisions will play two rounds of 18 holes, over two days – and I will investigate the feasibility of holding a 9 hole championship so we can enter a team for the Rosebowl Championship.
North Golf are following NZ Golf’s decision to have the Rosebowl team consist of a club’s Silver Winner, Bronze 1 winner, Vets Champion and a 9-hole champion.  It is likely the Ladies Champion of Champions will be held at our club next year, so it would be great if we could field a team.
Your committee has also decided that the handicap for all club competitions will be capped at 42.  Anyone on a higher handicap is eligible to play in all competitions, but must score as though on a 42 handicap.
Your committee has also decided, due to the increasing cost of manufacturing our monthly medals, we will dispense with the medals and recognise our monthly winners with a star chart.
Please feel free to make any suggestions of ways in which we can help improve your golfing experience.
Merry Christmas to you all – and I hope to see you on the course.

Vice Captain Ladies.
