IMPORTANT Club and Match Information

Dear Members

FROST DELAYS

Just to reiterate what Matt said in his email. It was -1 this morning in Whenuapai, and Daniel says that it doesn’t clear until around 8.45 if it is a harsh frost.    Apparently ice gathering on your golf shoes is the biggest problem as the build up leaves dents on the green.  Try banging any build up off your shoes before you approach the green.  Thank you for your diligence.

O’CONNELL CUP MIXED PAIRS MATCHPLAY

Entries are now open for our mixed pairs matchplay competition, which will be run over August to November.  Each round will be given 4 weeks to complete.

Handicaps have been limited to 42 (you can still play if your handicap is higher, but it will be capped).

Entries on the notice board outside the men’s changing room, or to paddymartin61@gmail.com     Email me if you require a partner, and I will see who I can pair you up with.

TOM METHVEN MEMORIAL DAY

A change to the printed programme.  This will now be held on Saturday 10th August.  Round 4 of Bogey Cup will be on 27th July.

NEW CARD PRINTER AND SCANNER

We are up and running with the card printer and scanner.  Below is a must read so that you know the process.

A kiosk has been created to house the monitor and printer.  This is in the small foyer between the men’s changing room and the club rooms (near the match table).  A lock similar to those on the changing room outer doors has been installed, with the keypad number  C8123.

Please do not share this number with anyone, including your guests and friends!  Security is paramount.

The scanner is on the table under the big screen in the clubhouse.  This will currently only be used on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, or any other competition when the clubrooms are open.  At other times players can manually input their scores on the monitor in the kiosk.

Most of you will have used the card printer at other clubs, but for those who haven’t, here are some guidelines, screen by screen.  (most of it is self-explanatory).

Non-competition days:

  1. Get a Score Card
  2. Do you have a membership number?     Yes/No
  3. Enter your 7 digit membership number ie  366 – – – –
  4. Click 9 or 18 holes.    Choose blue or yellow tees
  5. Print Card or Digital (no digital on haggle/competition days)

The printer may have to warm up slightly, and there should be a blue flashing light on the top right to indicate it is getting ready.

After your round, when there is no competition or haggle, you should enter your score in the kiosk.  Otherwise, put it in the outside card box.

Scan/enter Card

  1. Select manual
  2. Enter your scorecard number (4 digit number on lower right hand side of card)
  3. Fill in your score hole by hole and check that what you have entered matches what the screen is telling you (very important!)  It’s easy to correct a mistake – just touch the score that needs changing.

5 .  Save

Haggle/Competition days will be slightly different.  The day’s haggle will be shown and if you are playing in it, click YES, then Continue.

If you are not playing in the haggle/competition, then click NO, and proceed as above.

After your competition round you have the opportunity to go into the clubhouse and scan your card, rather than manually enter your scores.  There will be someone there to assist you if required.  If in doubt, just put your card in the scorecard box as usual.

Tomorrow, Saturday 6th July, if you use a printed card we will not be using the scanner (that will happen from next week).

Place your card in the match table box for Kath to input.

Happy golfing.
