Members,
The big screen is up and running in the clubhouse and we should be using it for results by next week and possibly TV watching tomorrow. We have all the equipment for the card printing machine and over the next 10 days we hope to have this in place and a couple of trials done by the Tuesday Ladies before moving into Wednesday competitions and beyond. The website is also up and running and we are in the process of a few final touches before going live. A big thank you to our team behind the scenes getting all those things finalised.
Just a few notes about etiquette on and off the course:
- Please do not hit up on another group playing in front of you if you think they are in range.
- If you think you are slowing the group behind you please think about letting them through.
- I do ask for patience if you do turn up on a Wednesday or Saturday during club competitions and not play in the competition and then expect to be let thru. This isn’t the case as players playing club competitions have priority on those days.
- You are only allowed 14 golf clubs in your bag (please correct me if I am wrong) if you are playing a match and have more you may be disqualified.
- During the week when the tees have been moved forward please stick to those tee positions. We are trying to protect the main tees from over usage and need members to tee off in the correct tee spots not 8 metres away.
- Please be mindful of other players playing their shots on the 2nd hole when you are playing the 1st and vice versa and keep the noise to a minimum.
- If you are hosting a visitor during club competitions please let the Club Captain know that this is happening via request as early as possible so I can enter the name/s into 18holes
- Please do not be afraid to empty the bottle bins in the BBQ area into the bigger bins outside whilst socialising after hours.
Some good news the paperwork for bar hours has been finalised (Signed off on base) and the bar will be opening on Sundays from the 2nd of June sometime after 1100 with the sausages cooking. Sunday 9 Hole will begin every Sunday from the 2nd of June between 2.15pm and 3.30pm in a similar format to Summer Twilight. I am also hosting Birkenhead RSA on the 2nd of June from 8am if any members would like to join us in a $5 18 hole Stableford competition please let me know.
A big thank you to all those volunteering around the course and the club house. Without this we may not exist the way we do. I do ask however that if you haven’t had a chance to “do your bit” that you find a way and let us know so we can find you even a small job to make your contribution.
The course is in tip top condition so get out there and enjoy it.
Happy Golfing.
Matt
